Thank you SSG John Beale

Like their sign said: "Freedom isn't Free - We Honor You SSG John Beale"

SSG John Beale was killed by an IED 3 short weeks after he arrived in Afghanistan. His funeral was this past weekend.

This is a video of the procession that went to pick up his remains and bring them back to Henry County, Georgia, where he was from.

After watching this video it's pretty easy to see that there are two kinds of people in America. There are Americans like the ones in this video. The ones that appreciate the sacrifice of people in the military. The ones that stand along side a road and pay their respects to a fallen soldier when he comes through their town. The ones that see America for what it really is.

Then there the other kind of "Americans". The kind that watch this video and think (or say) "What a dupe!" and "What a waste of time, I hope those cops aren't on the clock doing that kind of thing". The kind that think America is the cause of the world's problems.

Luckily, SSG John Beale and most Americans are like the former and not the latter. The latter comprise only a small, but vocal, minority of the country. Thank God.

If you think America is lazy or apathetic or stupid, watch this video. It will renew your faith in your fellow Americans.

*Tissue Warning* I didn't make it but 40 seconds or so.

I never really liked Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the USA". I always thought it was way too korny.

Until 9/11. Now I love it.

Great music choices in this vid.

UPDATE:

SSG John Beale (and his family) in happier days.

From his church's website on 6/4/09:
Dear Church Family,
Please be in prayer for one of our precious families here at Eagle’s Landing. Crystal Beale was notified that her husband, John, was killed today in Afghanistan while serving in the Army National Guard. John and Crystal along with their children, 8 year old Calye and 12 year old Christopher, are members of our church family. As you can imagine this is a very difficult time for every member of their family. As their church family, our hearts hurt with them.

I simply ask you to pray for Crystal and her children, petitioning the God of all comfort to comfort their hearts and provide supernatural strength as they walk through these difficult days. As I talked with Crystal today, she shared with me that knowing John was a believer is holding her up and providing a remarkable peace. John was a great husband, compassionate father, and a very good soldier. He will be greatly missed but we know that today he traveled to Heaven.

I will provide details for the service later this week. Please pray! Thank you for being such a caring church body.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort… 2 Corinthians 1:3

Thanks Jaguar

  1. Nice turnout to support Staff Sgt. Beale and his family. I was glad to see some of the Patriot Guard Riders there. My gratitude to SSgt. Beale and his family for making this heartrending sacrifice.

This may upset some, but I'm going to ask anyway. Is that area predominately white?

It will eventually fall to those in small towns and rural areas to take our country back. The cities are already lost.

  2. What a beautiful tribute. Now THAT is the America I know and love.

    Reaffirms one's faith in humankind.

It reminds me of last June, when we were in Maj. Scott Hagerty's procession. You may recall I posted pics of it on my blog; wish I'd taken video. Attending that funeral of a hero I never knew was life-altering for me.

I didn't notice the PG in the vid, but I'm glad to hear they were there. Thank God for the PG.

And thank God for heroes like SSG Beale.

  8. An truly amazing video...the turnout of thousands of people to honor this man shows that the true American spirit still lives. President Obama continues to apologize for America around the world and we no longer hear the phrase "Operation Enduring Freedom" and we forget that our men and women are sheding blood so that others can have liberty. Our President should be proud of what this nations stands for and make no apology. He can learn a lot from the previous President and from every person who stood along the roadside to pay respect for SS Beale. What a display of the difference in Obama and someone who is truly proud of America and our role in defending liberty across the world.

  9. Someone sent me the link and I posted on it, as well. My America, the one without lying, crooked Senators and Congressmen and Presidents, is alive and well, I see. May God give you and your family peace, SSg Beale, for you've purchased it for all of us.
